Miriam, you are right. Those are nice machines. Guess I just resent being vintage.
I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world. This makes it hard to plan the day.

Don't resent being vintage - cherish being vintage - some of those vintage machines really rock...
I'm tinkering with a vintage Pfaff - I can see some good engineering and some room for improvement - I don't think plastic is an improvement however - I can see that the Pfaff 260 can do about what my Singer 401 can do - it's a tank - I wish I had a manual.

One of the best machines I ever used was a Pfaff from about 1955-1960. I was not allowed to touch the tension. And my aunt's Elna was a beast.

My wish came true!!! Melinda sent me a manual PDF!!!! I am doing the happy dance!!! Melinda compares it to a 319 - It is similar. I like the idea that that lever will allow me to hold it and make the zig zag go wider or narrower for monograms or such!!! I think this is going to be a very cool vintage machine. Nothing plastic on there.

*Is* there such thing as a 16-66? I've never heard of it before. Regardless, yes-a lot of wishful thinking in this one!

    Nope...they turned the numbers around...it's a 66-16
One day, you'll only be a memory for some people. Do your best to be a good one.
