Candace, I don't usually offer advice either but no way was I even tempted by either machine because of condition and prices. I just said that in case the seller was truly interested in selling it. And I know what you mean by CLs - there a machine that the guy has listed for $250 for a Singer 15-91 (I think) in a cabinet. It's old, it's historical or it's whatever - just too much money for the machine.

They're ALL rare aren't they? I saw a booth at an antique store that had three of them and each one was "RARE"! My husband said, "How rare can they be if you have three for sale?" Highly collectible? Yes. Rare? No.

Not only is is NOT rare, it is NOT a featherweight. I looked it up.... it's a model 66. They got the 'made in 1948' right.

Beautifully aged! That's a good description. And an extra $200 for the cabinet plus shipping. It is also a PASS!

I wanted to leave my card and say, "You call me when you want someone to haul this off for you"

I offered her $20 for it... Almost tempted to up my offer, but if I know anything my repair guy already snatched it up. :P Seriously though, $85 for a machine that's missing the bobbin case, pedal, power cord, and has a broken piece?
