Very interesting to say the least. The only crinkle finish Featherweights were black and military issue.

it looks like a repaint to me honestly... i didnt really know they put decals on the crinkle finishes?? except for the logo? i could be wrong. im no expert. But seeing as the chips clearly show black and then the metal... it looks repainted. id imagine a professionally painted one in the factory would have been stripped and then painted?

I'd guess a repaint too. The only ones I've seen pictures of were black crinkle and I 'm sure that they didn't have decals. The Singer plate on the light looks to have come from something else.

It's a repaint...but if you see a BLACK crinkle for a good price, buy it! They're kinda like hen's teeth!

I think e1 is right, it's a repaint, kind of a weird finish though. Charlee, there are no crinkles in this part of the country!

I saw that too! He says it may or may not be a repaint. But how would you get a crinkle finish in repaint??? Wouldn't the finish of the metal give you the crinkly surface???

That looks like a repaint. Mine has grooves around the edge, no decal like on this one. Also, black is the only color I've seen.
