Thanks everyone, especially Billy and Charlee, for your help and answers.

Before telling you how much I paid, tell me how much you think it's worth. (Actually, my husband, who is the one who made the purchase as a surprise to me, is curious about whether he overpaid. Of course, my answer is that it couldn't have been too much.....just look at that baby!)

If you are happy, then he didn't overpay. It is obviously something special since no one has been able to identify it.

That is a beautiful machine. You are so lucky. It is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. It is certainly above my buying ability for machines.

The case has wonderful woodwork too. I look forward to learning of the pedigree.

That is truly a very beautiful machine, and the case is wonderful! I wish they made great machines like that now, but then we probably couldn't afford them if they did!!
