I'm working on a Scrappy Jacob's Ladder. Started piecing with my Standard, but switched over to my Two Spools since I like the foot on the Two Spools better than any of my other machines for piecing.

I like the feel of the Standard and Singer VS2, but wish they had the feet of the Two Spools. Two Spools can be a bit louder than the other machines, minus the Davis NVF.

That's a great deal! Are you switching them out, or just swapping the bolt.
Mostly swapping the bolt, don't know what else. It depends on what condition they're in.

You have a really nice red eye there. This is my favorite machine the 66 I have three 66's. I agree they sew really well and easy to maintain.
Glenn
The 66 is my all time favorite machine to work on and play with. I can completely gut one main shaft and all and put it back together again sewing in just over an hour. I have been working on a project for the last year and a half with a buddy of mine that I hope to post photos of the prototype later this year if not by the first of the year. I think you guys will love the machine and the improvements I have made to it from the original. But that is all the information I am giving so far. Since I have been sick I have had to put everything on the back burner so nothing has been done towards anything but me trying to get well.

Billy
Yes, Billy, you take it very easy, man!!!!! I want to get that repaint 66 in Ruby Red that we talked about from you when you get well!! Of course, I just want you to get well soon (or as well as you will be able to get!) Val, don't let him overdo, ok????

After I started reading, the article sounded so familiar. I think I've seen a similar review a while back. Wonder how much sewing you would have to do to wear the gears down??

It's not necessarily the wearing of the gears that's the problem. It's the whole machine shaking and vibrating that contributes to noise and inaccurate sewing. I wouldn't buy one.

Ruby Rustbucket will have a new home. The owners of my LQS are going to rescue her and put her in the lobby of the store. I can sew on her there if I want. They are both excited about having to do the work she needs. As Janome dealers, they have an interest in a New Home Machine. That's why I didn't put her on Craigslist before I asked them. He asked how many hundreds I wanted. I told him free if he picks it up, whatever my grandson charges if I have it delivered. It will be picked up. Woohoo! She will be well cared for.

I did it, and here it is again.

But someone said that some of the info here is wrong. it was about how some needles are put in the machine. Here is the original posting.

I hope this helps.
Thanks, Janis. I printed it out too, so I can lay it down and forget where I put it!! I even made two copies (stupid printer) so I can lose them both!!
