Yes, thanks Karen:
I just got thru going thru the manual and that's exactly what's wrong. Now I need to figure out how to fix it. Do I take out the two small screws where the "finger" is unter the throat plate or do I take off the two screws holding the throat plate down on the base? I will get it figured out. I'm on the verge of having it sew like a dream.

Woo Hoo!!! I just made all the adjustments and she sews like a dream. Much better than the other centennial I have. I couldn't be more excited. And I sure couldn't beat the price.

I was about to say the same thing, and I think it's relatively easy to get replacement foot pedals

I LOVE (using the LOVE word here) my Little Ms. Featherweight. She even sewed through 3 layers of (soft) leather the other night for a guy who needed a patch sewn on his motorcycle vest.
