Candace, you are really close to me aren't you? I saw that green machine on Craigslist too. Really a neat looking machine.

Nancy

Yes, Nancy I'm relatively close to you. I've been in contact with the seller and it's cute for sure. I just need it like a hole in the head, you know. ;> Especially since it's not in the traveling case and no attachments:<
Have the two of you seen this one listed? Not your half hour drive though! I have been looking at this, but I'm not into motors.

Looks like motorectomy could be done on this one. Also looks like the circular thing in back may be for cams. Looks interesting.
No, I hadn't seen this one. But, I think so many people around here ask way too much for these machines. I might pay $20 for that one...maybe. I see the same machines up for sale for a looooong time, over and over because people are dreamers.

:-D Howdy! Haven't been in the shop in ages!

I desperately need help with my FW. I took out the bobbin assembly and can't seem to get it to hold in there. It snaps in but I can't see anything that holds it in and of course, it falls right out.

The manual hasn't helped me much. I really want to take it on a trip with me tomorrow.

Can someone point me in the right direction, please?

And I love all the pictures of all the machines! I have been busy sewing all day -- when, I finally get time to look into the shop I had 4 pages to read! Wow! Love it!
Very inventive!! And if it works, it wins!!

I don't know if this one will fit in a Singer treadle OR use a HC, but I would be tempted by a Vigorelli!!

It looks like cams get used in the back, but there is no mention of cams. Yes, it is tempting. If the cams are there, I think this would be a fun machine to play with.

SewExtreme, If you had the throat-plate off, you have to be very careful to seat the bobbin shuttle in the little slot at the very top of the bobbin area.

Boopers, I followed that part from my handbook but can't see what holds it in place. I am pretty sure I have taken this assembly out before and had no problem putting it back in. Yikes!

I have had this FW for a while and have sewn many things on it. I don't know if I am just brain lacking or what.

Geeze, if that machine were a little closer, I'd like to go see it -- sure is interesting looking. I never heard of a Vigorelli. Miz Johnny what kind of reputation does that machine have?

If for some reason you actually took the throat plate off, you will have to put the bobbin case back in and spin it a bit each way until the bobbin position finger seats. You will have to replace the throat plate while the position finger is pointed up toward the needle making sure that the position finger is in the notch of the position plate that is under the throat plate.

Did you actually remove the whole bobbin assembly or just the throat plate and bobbin case? If you removed the whole assembly, it is a little more complicated to get it all back together correctly.

Hope this helps,

Nancy

The reputation is good, and I've seen people drive a good distance to get one!
