Gosh Donna... I LIKE it too! If I saw that in a thrift, I'd be all over it. It looks dirty, but it doesn't look really trashed. Bet it would clean up and be BEAUTIFUL!

Nancy,
How to date the New Home, call 1-800-631-0183 and give them the serial number. That's how I dated my 1891 New Home. By the way beautiful machine!!

Yep....it's time to put you out to pasture :-D :-D

I think the decals, on that machine, are being protected by the grime. If you get the accumulation of dirt of of her she will be a real BEAUTY!!!!!!

VM... thanks! There's a 201-2 north of me by about 1.5 hours (closer than orlando to me and a less hectic drive). They want $150 for it, it's in the cabinet 40, but also has the matching bench. I'm headed up that way to get the trapazoid 301 today... I might take a look at it. They've had it listed for sale since early December, maybe even longer.

I'm still hoping for a great steal deal... like a $35 garage sale, portable 201!!!! (I think it was Nancy? or maybe Brenda that found that recently! Gosh!!!) lol... sometimes I think the HUNT  IS the fun part!!!
Kim, The 201s are not portable machines. These ladies are solid (and run smooth). The one that is in the Queen Anne cabinet on CL is the machine to go for first, since it is rare to find a 201 with an external motor in the US. Most here in the States are 201 with potted motor.

I do hope someone who is looking for an excellent machine to use in a treadle goes after this 201 in the Queen Anne cabinet. This is a great deal at $100.

Actually, I finished my niece's purple and blue quilt tonight, in time for guild show and tell Thursday, then pack her up and mail it in time for her birthday , first week of March. Wahooo!
Congratulations! Doesn't it feel good to finish a quilt! We need to see a picture!

I love the lion on that machine! I wish I could help you but I have looked and can't find anything more than you did. Billy/Miz Johnny what do you guys know? I am curious too.

Nancy
According to Needlebar, Stoewer made a Serata.
