Anyone have one of these... are they any good? Or just curiosities? I think it does straight and zig zag built in. But it's an old black singer.... <scratches head>
I have a Singer 206K and use it quite frequently. It is an excelllent machine for sewing canvas and leather. It takes special 206 X 13 needles, has reverse, zig zag, and the option to move the needle placement from left to right.

I have a copy of the manual if you need one.

Yes, it does look like the cleaned up version of your machine. I really like the looks of the machine - especially, the foot pedal - which, is a foot! Does your Graybar's foot pedal look like about a size 7 foot?

Nancy
No, the foot pedal wasn't a foot.

Have your seen the 201-2 in the Queen Anne cabinet on Sac.CLs. for $200?

I also have a 206. I understand it is the first Singer model with zigzag. It is a real workhorse. The needles have been a little hard to find, but I have since located an OSMG who has a stash. The machine is wonderful. Mine has a knee control, which is the type I learned on. For me that is an added attraction.

Cool looking machine! What is the machine behind the 206K?

I have been lurking on this site for a few days. I finally signed up today.
I knew I had one old machine in cabinet and one cabinet without machine. I went in basement to check on the machine that I had thinking it was an old Singer. It is a Free#5 and in good condition meaning no rust just dirty. Needs new belt and the thread spool holder is missing. The the plate on it has patent numbers, I don't think there were any patent pending dates on it. I will take pics soon and post them. Decals are in great shape. The cabinet is the parlor kind with doors on the front.
Then I decided to open the cabinet with no machine and found a Singer machine in it! The only number I could find was H1655682. Decals are nice. I'll do more checking later and also send pics.

Welcome aboard Jan On 466!

Please post pictures, and what is the serial number on the Free # 5? I am trying to keep track of all the Free's to compose a dating list. Are there any dates with the Free, like a sales receipt or something? What are the patent numbers on the Free?

Nancy

Your Singer is a Model 15 with 50,000 allotted Oct 1, 1907. You should be using both of those machines! They are my two favorites!
