I bought them from sellers on Ebay before. I just looked and found this one:

However, this one is not a new replacement, it's another old one. You would be investing a lot of money, and would be likely to have the problem again not too far down the road. There are NEW replacements you can get, but they are no longer made by Bernina. It will look just like the one you have now, and work fine, but it won't say "Bernina" at the top of the pedal like your old one.
There don't seem to be any on Ebay currently (besides the old one, above) so I would Google "sewing machine parts" and find an online dealer, unless you know someone locally who can get it for you.

I happen to love them because after I use a machine I just hit it take the tension off of the presserfoot and Store the machine. It keeps the spring from loosing any preload or strength while its sitting around doing nothing. In fact I always take the pressure off of the presserfoot no matter what.

What do you recommed I use for cleaning her? The black needs polishing and gunk removed but the decals are delicate and some what thin so I want to be careful. Thanks anyone and Billy too :thumbup:

As my grandmother would say, "Vidi, vici, vinci." I came, I saw, I conquered - not really!! Lusted after sew many machines at the preview for the machine auction. I have 20 plus pics of the machines and would have more but the batteries died in the camera. DH just groaned when he saw all the machines - he knew I wasn't walking out without getting one. Bad news is that auction is on Sunday - Palm Sunday which is a Sunday service I will not miss despite the temptations only 20 mins from my house. So I wandered around and found 5 301s with attachments and looked to be in good shape. Went and talked to the folks running the auction. They gave me a bid card which I filled out with name and phone # and then listed the machines that I would bid on if I were to be there. OKay, there were more I would like but DH only puts up with so much tomfoolery from me with my sewing machine obsession. I then put down my maximum bid and will hope for the best. I did say I only wanted one and the auctioneer seemd reasonably confident that I would have the winning bid on one of them. I sure hope so. What he was worried about was that at the end, they be lots of 10 to 15 machines for maybe only $50 bucks for the lots. There were at least 4 FWs and two were white ones.
