Why pull the motor? Doesn't it sit down out of the way like my Singer 328k does. For some reason, I get the impression your 401G is more like my Singer 328. From the photos that you posted earlier of all your machines, it looks like the 401G is just belt drive.

Quilt Mom, post the link when you can and your computer is more cooperative. I've checked a few places that have free manuals but haven't found one for the 19E yet. Hopefully I'll find one soon or I'll just bite the bullet and pay for one. Here is a picture of her. I hope to have a chance to sew on her tomorrow.

I just got a Singer 457 Stylist. Haven't had time to play er, work with it yet. I searched for some feet for it and find a lot, which I can get when I find out which ones I need. I would love to have the Professional Buttonholer, have the original manual with the #102575 part for the buttonholer and put a saved search for it on Ebay. Does anyone know if it could take another model number? I have too much work to get done before the weekend to spend any time with it. It also came in a nice small cabinet all for $15.00! I think it will be my "go to" machine. I have an expensive Janome MC3500 but having trouble making buttonholes. Have to work on that too. I'll post pictures next week.
There is something wrong with the slide plate. It won't hold, is loose all the time. Any ideas?

This is my machine that has problems with the bobbin winder. If you find a book on her, I'd like to know what the bobbin winder page says!

I will let you know. I have a source where I can buy a manual so I'll do that if I have too. I've e-mailed Viking to see if they have one that can be down loaded, if not I'm just going to buy one. I love the lining of your case. Mine has the green and white lining. I just love every thing about it.

MarieM and SewWishful... your Vikings are gorgeous. I have never seen those models before. I love the green color. Are they light in weight?
SewWishful, sorry you are so far away... that black 301 and the cabinet are so beautiful. DH's thoughts were the same as mine... being, too bad I already spent my $$! Hope someone gets it that really appreciates it. :D
