Here are Kathie's newest machines! I will post them in the Photo session too as soon as I can!

Kathie, before I post in the Photo Shop, please give me all their information, i.e., serial numbers, dates , anything you know about these machines!

I don't drink either. We'll wait until the others get loaded then choose what we want and leave.[/quote]

Ditto for me too. Kathie

So, I'm in a grumpy mood to start with. I oiled it up cleaned it all and it seems to be in working condition(minus the case). But, here's the problem. I can't get the feed dogs to lower. I can turn the knob until it won't turn anymore and I put the stitch length in neutral, yet the feed dogs continue to move. Any idea what I should do??? I guess it's better for them to be stuck in the "up" position, rather than down, but I'd like to try FMQ with it AFTER I find a bobbin case for it. Help!
Jenny at sewclassic has your bobbin case for a reasonable price - http://shop.sew-classic.com/Singer-3...-Parts_c37.htm

Thanks Miriam, but this is the price for reproductions. The originals are going upwards of $50-$80:< And from what I hear the repros. are hit or miss and can be problematic. I don't know if this is true but have read it on a couple websites.

I would call and talk to Jenny - she is very reputable.

Anyone want to take a guess why they would have an electric machine sitting on top of a treadle and then say its powered by foot.

I guess pressing the pedel is powered by foot lol

That was why I suggested that she now cuts the top into 60 degree triangles and sew into hexis and add a solid background fabric. I think it would look cool!

Maybe we could come in shifts. We could each spend a month or so and before you know it the 5 years would be up and you would have a clean basement.
~grin~ I'm pretty sure that with constant company, Miz Johnny would feel like that 5 years was more like 20!!
With me there, it will be done within a week. I stated that I'm a diligent worker...and with some coffee I work even faster. Vintage sewing machines in a basement is like hitting the jackpot!

One quick question in regards to Singer 185K....what kind of bobbin cases do they use? Are they easy to replace? I've googled and really can't find much info. Thanks!
