Darren, I love the 185! Is she really noisey? A gal brings a 185 to Girls Night Out that just clangs!

Karen the smallest are probably the Wilcox and Gibbs type treadles. Look at page 894 here to see one of my Wilcox and Gibbs machines.

Charlee just looked at your blog and the top looks nice. How is the rest coming. Put William to work on it did you. The top still needs the shellac treatment I told you about. You are doing a good job Charlee. Can't wait to see the final product.

I got the slide plate and spring from Sew-Classic - I sent an email about a spring but I have a feeling it's not going to be something in stock.
Is it the same as a 401???
No, :( I just went and checked. It's smaller. The hobby shop I went to measured it and said it was 3/56. I know it's part #226D. Its almost the size of a screw in pair of glasses - just a little bit bigger, I think. There is a Singer authorized repair in Syracuse - I'm going to call tomorrow to see if they have one.

I agree. That is going to be a gorgeous machine, cabinet, and treadle.
