The yard sale goes from Either West Virginia Or Virginia to Georgia along one hwy and is the most fun I have had in a long time. I am going to plan my vacation around it next year! I was able to go 10 miles on it in Lewis County TN and I saw maybe 3500 vendors in that short of a distance. A lot of Mennonites were wandering around there and they had quite a few machines for sale. The prices were just unreal and like I said I am going to take my 40 enclosed trailer and several dollars and buy everything I find. I missed a couple of deals because I didnt have the cash on me at the time but they were the Boye display boxes one with half of the tubes in the thing with both needles and shuttles for $100. And then there was a really pretty JP Coats display case from the early 1900's for $75. I only brought $50 in cash because I didnt think much about the sale and had no idea of the enormous deals and all of the cool things that would be there. I had my credit cards but its hard to use them at a yard sale LOL!!

But believe me I am hurting big time today but it was worth every bit of it!!

I have missed the board. I have tried to get on but did not feel good. Had some surgery the mid of July. Did O.K. on surgery but had reaction to a drug and thought I was dying. My Daddy always told me don't take drugs they will kill you and he would know. He was pharmacist for over 50 yrs. Did I miss a post about this yard sale? Have not worked on this pile of machines I have in almost 3 mths. I do a lot of looking at them, but no energy to do the fixing. You have been on my mind during my ordeal and have had time to do lots of praying for you.

I think the sale is the one on Hwy 127 and runs for 675 miles. I keep thinking I will take the time someday to go.

Years ago you could register your bicycle in your county and get license plates for it a lot of states did this but to find ones that have never been registered or used are unreal. Heck just finding them is hard enough. My buddy will sell them for $200 a pair and make some good money on them just like I did when I sold them to him.

Molly I am praying for you too!! I know where you are coming from and i am still there in a lot of ways. It will not be until sometime next year if I am lucky before I can get back to functioning semi normally but I am keeping the best positive attitude and chugging along the best I can. I have to go get my med alert tags made up today or tomorrow so if something happens the doctors will know what they are dealing with when I first get there.

Need some advice please. Couple of months ago, rummaging through a antique shop, DH ran across a dirty, dark, older machine. When we brought it into some light we'd seen it was a red eye, a 66, right? WOW!! my first. Everything moved freely and looked like everything was intact. Once brought home, we discovered the tension spring was broken. Nothing major, found another on ebay. Now all we need is a table & belt then I will be able to give it a true test drive - after she's cleaned of course.
Okay, here's the thing. I recently purchased a manual and just received a notice from the seller that the cover had fallen off @ the staples as well as the two center pages. In leu of credit, she is willing to give me other items I may need for the machine, she mentioned pressure feet & needles, if I knew the sizes. The reason for getting the manual is because I am not having much luck finding is info on the net.
The machine has one needle with a burr on the tip, one bobbin, and one pressure foot. Any input? Desperately seeking advice as I am just beginning to collect these wonderful machines.
Thanks in advance to all

Luckily the parts for this machine are really easy to find so I might would go for some accessory feet if I were you.
the machine uses the standard 15x1 needles and the class 66 bobbins that are readily available at Walmart and other fabric getting stores! I love my Singer 66's and you should too, but if I were you see if you can get a darning plate for the machine!!

Keep in mind that unless the pressure bar has been replaced, this machine will take back clamping attachments....those are what I'd go for...
