I actually could drive down there in a couple of hours...that's near my original hometown in the San Fernando Valley. I saw that ad about 2 months ago, so they must not have sold many machines. Too bad...I am already squeezing machines in under my quilting frame...no more room!!!

So, Quiltncowgirl went to see a 1956 Singer 15 in a straight leg cabinet for me this evening. The cabinet needs a little finish work, but overall is in good condition. The 15 looks super.... Anyway, we were both feeling guilty for separating her VS2 from it's beautiful mahogany cabinet, so it just seemed like the right thing to do to find another cab for my 66 to be in. It didn't fit in the 1891 cab too well, anyway, and my DH couldn't bring himself to carve on the hole any more. I'm glad he didn't! Here's some pics of the 15 and the straight leg cab. It's still in Fresno at Cowgirl's house, but we're going to meet up in the next few weeks to exchange.

Hmm...do I see a couple of green Elnas in there, left hand pic? Would be fascinating to see.

That's good to know. I'm sure its factory made, so was nothing I could "fix", but it caught my eye and made me do that wonder thing!!

At least they are indoors. I've seen machines piled outside of a building. They had been striped just for their irons, to make stone top tables.
