Nancy, I sure hate hearing about the loss of your animal friend. It sounds like you were a good friend to him as well. I know you will miss him greatly.
Miriam, Congrats on the new grandboy!! Hope the mom and baby are doing well.
Bennett, This will sound crazy, but flip the bobbin to turn the other direction and try it, from clockwise to counter clockwise, or opposite from how it is turning anyway. Some machines are sensitive to this. Go figure. Worth a try.

Hi! I am wondering how I could find out the year my Free machine was manufactured. I haven't been successfull yet in searching online. thanks.

Bennett, How full is the bobbin? My 301 doesn't like to FMQ with a really full bobbin. The thread slips out of the slot. It doesn't matter when doing regular stitching.

Sometimes it seemed like I could lift and put down the presser foot again, and it would go back to being a good tension. Or I could reach in and press the bobbin case in a bit and it would work for a while. Of course, this could just be about the same as holding my mouth just right!
I was also going to try out my Singer 15 bobbin case in it (if compatible, haven't looked yet) and see if that makes a difference.

Look what happens when you start digging around in drawers! My 201 cabinet has very large, deep drawers. I was looking for something and found these tucked away in the bottom. I know they came with that machine, but I had completely forgotten about them. The cardboard tube of marking chalk was labeled for 25 cents. And here I just picked up a Greist buttonholer at a garage sale a few weeks ago thinking it would be cool to have one. I need to start an inventory of what I have!

I must have 5 or 6 of those type button holers now...I don't think anyone wants them as I see tons listed on ebay. I wish they were actually worth something, I'd be rich:>

Nancy....having a friend for 29 1/2 years and then losing him is so very sad. I've always had a special place in my heart for horses. A neighbor from my childhood taught me so much about horses and how to groom, feed, saddle, ride, etc. and in my adult life was very close to a guy who had a couple of grand belgians. It was love at first sight. I do understand your loss. God be with you during your grief. {{{{{{HUGS!!!!!}}}}}}

We got to meet Walter Obediah last night. He has a receding hair line with a ton of dark hair down over his little ears so he too looks like a little old man. He only weighed 6 lbs and 11 oz. I forget how tall but he is and inch shorter than any of the others - her smallest baby and the only one on time. The others were over due. DD is doing the best after a baby of any time. Her BFF is an excellent midwife.
