Candace, that table is the BOMB!!! I have seen several FW tables, but only 1 other 301 table. Good for you!! It's great!!

It is quite possible the machine you are looking at was electrified - people did that all the time to those treadles. They put a motor on them as soon as they had electricity in their homes! Did you see the Serial Number?

I have been messing around with a couple machines - I have an old 66 redeye that has been electrified. I thought I could put a HC on it - no mount - there are just screw holes. I think she would rather go back in a treadle. Too bad Lafayette is so far - then again it probably wouldn't fit that cabinet. Then I fooled around with a Singer Merritt. It would HC or treadle pretty easily. It now works. I also fooled around with a Singer Spartan. I'm not satisfied with the belt so I need to order one. The Spartan is in really nice shape - it has a light and motor with new wires.

I learned something new today that I wish to share.
I was look at different you tube videos on oiling vintage sewing machines and came across BrianSews's video.
He recommends using Marvel Mystery Oil found at Walmart for sewing oil. He states that it was once made for use as sewing oil, but now sold in auto parts area. At 1 minute 8 seconds into the video is when he introduces this; here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sf7DsEE02zM
Does anyone here use this stuff? Seems lots cheaper.

I would like to know Glen's opinion on the oil. It is a very good video in any case. It is the long term with oil - how gooey does it dry. Note how that Necchi bottom does the zig zag - well machined isn't it - just look under a plastic machine and you will see what I mean.

Haha!! Yes, yes I survived. The show was a great success...we had nearly 1500 people through the door, with 24 vendors, 196 quilts hung, a Bed Turning with mostly antique quilts, a demonstrations area, and of course my favorite, the antique & vintage sewing machines exhibit. That turned out to be a big hit!! I had two ladies come and offer me machines for free..I have to call them this week. They didn't know what the machines are...it's gonna be a great surprise!! Also got a 1940's cabinet with a 60's Singer in it...I'm taking the machine out and putting one of my old ladies in it. It's the cabinet with the curved drawers on the right side, and also came with the matching stool!! I got it for $60 (money goes to our guild, so I didn't haggle!), and my DH is excited about refinishing the cabinet. It was so fun, but Monday a.m. I woke up with aching muscles and very tired...I rested most of the day, and returned to work today. I'll post pics in a separate thread some time this week.
