I took Rusty apart as far as I have because I had to get the rust out of all the joints and connections. One of those things that if I didn't have to, I wouldn't have.

Places like Sew-Classic sell spoked hand wheels and the hand crank kits. Once installed you use your original bobbin winder. They drive off the wheel just like before.

The cost could be close to the same - replace the motor - buy a hand crank - put it on empty irons...........
How do you HC a 66 with no motor boss? I'm thinking it would have to find some irons. I have 2 redeye - need to go.

I currently have three Singer 66 treadles, a Franklin treadle and a Singer 66 in a cabinet. To be laughingly honest I don't have any room for another treadle.
Mr. Crinkle does run now, I put him back together last night ... 'er early this morning. Repaired motor sounds hideous, but it runs and he sews. So I'm just not sure what I'm gonna do.

I can do really good on the electric machines. But not so much the treadles.
If I can get the treadle going for a long stitch like a seam or a hem I'm good. But short spaces like piecing things together for a quilt I just can't get the treadles to do what I can do easily with an electric.
And the one feature I'm finding I reallllly realllllyy want on a machine is a reverse or a back tacker. They make life sooo much easier.
