Nancy, here's a link to the table. http://www.ismacs.net/singer_sewing_...umber-314.html As you can see it's for a long bed 301. Since you have a short bed I'd recommend you keep you eye out for the table I have. This is from yesterday's ISMACS digest. The pdf is interesting, no pictures but some good machine information. This was posted by David from Kent, England.
I was doing a search for a Singer 96KSV7 and stumbled across the following
catalogue, section 1 of which is sewing machines, and not just those in
the West Dunbartonshire collection:

If anyone has any views on how complete this is, for example, I'd be
interested.
I have already noticed in the 'maker not recorded' a 31-2 and 31k15 -
probably Singer. The K31-4 is probably the Singer 31K4 which John
Langdon(?) has photographed. This was used for decorative stitching on the
end of corset bones, the needle stopping at the end of each stitch so the
fabric could be moved by hand. House built the mechanism for this into the
treadle base, but I am not sure about Singer's: I'd love to crank her over
and see.

I have several machines to choose from FW's, 301"s, Davis VF, 319,Franklin treadle and my 66 treadle.

Original 221 tables all have a rounded black skirt around the edge.
The 301/401 tables have a tan skirt that slopes. Easy to spot the differences
once you know them. The long bed table's cut out is a rectangle and the short has a bump-out on the right.

Monica, I just figured the Tempe was short for Temperance Creek, which is not far from me! But, after seeing your e-mail I looked up the area code too - that is Arizona!
