Noname came from an auction. Someone had worked on machines. This machine does not look like it was ever completely set up - it does not look used at all. I really like Noname. The tag for the motor is in the case - the motor was spray painted black. The foot control and case look new - a bit of rust on the case's latches. The Alden came from the same auction. It doesn't looked used either - it has a nasty looking Kenmore motor and foot control - maybe she ran out of spray paint? When I got the Alden, I did not realize at first that it was 3/4 size Japanese 15. One day it just hit me. The Cinderella came from a CL ad. I was surprised how light weight. I think the motor weighs the most. I was surprised to see the same Japanese 15 parts on it. There is not much left of that case - maybe some orange spray paint could make it look like a pumpkin. I bet the paper is holding it together and probably the source of the smell.

Remember to oil around the buttons - after years of non-use they can get sticky. I found it really helps to always have that IDT foot engaged too when doing the decorative stitches - that way you don't get bunched up fabric.

Nancy,
I was trying to use the fancy stitches for quilting like I do with the Sapphire, it wasn't pretty. I usually have the IDT foot engaged when I use the Pfaff. I'd like to find someone less cranky than my local Pfaff dealer to really go over my Pfaff and adjust everything. The local guys tell me they've worked on it and I don't think they do much.

[QUOTE=miriam;5125065]Cinderella and her pumpkin need a transformation. Both smell like they have been in Muv's outhouse for a very long time. (I got a kick out of that, Muv) Around here it would be a shed - an outhouse is the little house out back with two seats with holes - my grandma would visit there daily at the least and hold court - never went in the house unless it was a dire emergency. Never mind - it smells like either one. The finish is in horrid shape there is a bit of rust on the base and the wires are clipped. Cinderella cut shuck of the mice and horses and has a regular motor - same size as Noname.[/QUOTE
That Cinderella can come live at my house anytime!! I'd love to find one.

Great pictures! I have a Cinderella, and what is interesting to me is that the body that is cast in one piece on most machines all comes apart. Does make it a lot lighter! I wanted to make it into a handcrank, but apparently the handwheel doesn't line up right.

That Alden is a cute little machine too.

I think the Alden is my favorite of all of them. The Cinderella is pretty needy - she looks like a Cinderella in need of the fairy godmother... I have no idea how she sews. I just got the throat plate from my sister's collection of junk parts. She's pretty dirty. Glenn I need to do step one with Cinderella.
Don't underestimate that Domestic - I should shoot some more pics of it - that one is very light weight. I haven't gotten it to make a stitch yet. I am wondering if it needs special needles or if it is out of timing. My sister says she is sending me a vintage Domestic button hole maker suppose to go with it. The tag is original.

FYI: I bought a 2nd cheesecake pan (Nordicware) and it's got a smaller circumference than my Wilton springform (cheesecake pan). I am bummed but had no choice. Will try to find another Wilton pan or go up to a 10" springform pan if I cannot find another Wilton pan.

Chris, YUMMY! I'll take a couple of slices of the cheesecakes. I love NY style cheesecake. One of my favorite cheesecake recipes is from the "Silver Palate Good Times Cookbook".

Now you got me wanting cheesecake with my morning coffee.

Yes, they both need some finish work Glenn.

Those Cinderella machines are so cute with the lovely decals. At one of Cathy's TOGA, I got to see how the machine can easily be taken apart to see the guts of the machine.

The Aldens has very pretty decals. Thanks for sharing a photo with us! I have never seen an Aldens. Nice to see them all the machines lined up for the comparison of sizes.

Miriam, I think Glenn would be first working on that pretty cabinet!

Pat! I couldn't remember who owned the Cinderella. That was cool seeing how the cute Cinderella can be quickly open for view of its guts.
