Charlee, Happy Anniversary to you and William.
In honor of your anniversary, I am making yeast donuts today in my new cast iron pan! It will be my first use of it since it arrived.

I bought a Singer coffin top treadle cabinet that had been used for a TV stand, the former owners were kind enough to have removed the hinge pins and drip pan too. They also threw those away. Why, I don't know. It took me about 6 months to find the proper hinge pins. My son fabricated a drip pan from a piece of sheet metal.
You should've seen the looks I got when they heard that I was going to put a machine in it and use it. lol

Jaba, have you looked inside the cover for the knee bar? There is usually a bracket at the top that holds the bar. Keeping my fingers crossed you find it.

I can tell you one thing, even though I am not a regular contributor to this thread... I mostly try to keep up with reading it... sorta regularly... And I pop in with questions 'cuz you guys (girls) are the experts... but, my home is filled with vintage machines and I can directly point my finger at y'all as to the reason 'why' it is filled with vintage machines. You have taught me so much and I love all of my machines. Often you learn a lot by just listening to everyone else! So, THANKS!

I just called a sewing machine repairman to inquire about getting the screw and spring, and ,is it bushings too, for my 1924 Singer 99. What I have is a screw/top missing from my motor and the spring sticking up. The machine does work even though the spring is sticking up. I asked him if he had the screw or whatever it needed, and he said that I'd need to bring it in. He said it needed the bushings, etc. I asked him how much it would cost, and he said $30-35.00. I asked why so much, and he replied "for the parts and labor, and it won't work unless it is put in right." Is it that hard for me to order the things from some place like Sew-Classic and put them in myself? I hate spending $30-35 if I don't need to. Thanks!

Purplefiend, what a pretty TV stand, and now back into a sewing machine cabinet. I just can't figure out why people have to reinvent the wonderful old cabinets. If they don't want to leave them like they originally were, just leave them alone for someone who does. I'm glad you could rescue it!

I wish that I could have gotten the lady to come down in price, but she wouldn't budge from $100, I love the cabinet;
treadles smoothly too. I've always wondered which machine it originally came with.
I think that if they hadn't used it for a TV stand it may have been discarded as trash or set outside to die a slow death from neglect.
