For those of you that don't venture off of this particular thread much...look and see what "Gojo" or "Goop" can do to a machine's decals!

I've asked to have those tutorials removed...this was a family heirloom that has been damaged beyond repair by bad advice!!

That was a sad mess!! I felt sorry for her....she thought she was following good advice.

Linda, it works best if you cut off 18" of the first strip. Otherwise you end up with each strip starting on one side of the quilt and ending on the other side, next strip doing the same, etc. so you end up with just strips basically sewn together. Taking off the 18" makes it so the the strips "wrap" to the next row. Am I making this clear? :-)

I know...it's bad advice, and I don't think it should be here on the board. There are too many that don't know how to tell if the clear coat has been compromised and the decals exposed.

I find myself angry about it, actually...and I don't often get angry to this degree.

I am so sorry that the decals are damaged. but please no gojo or goop on these old machines. Sewing macine oil and a little dish soap and water is all that is needed.

There are 2 long screws on the inside of the post (at the top & bottom) that hold the side plate on. After you unscrew them, pull out slightly on the front or bottom of the plate because the light socket snaps into a clamp. And then slide it backwards to get the switch thru the hole in the plate. At least that's how mine works....

I sent one to Patrice.... I hope they can remove the tutorials before something like this happens to someone else.

This person has been a member for almost 2 years and was not reading the rest of the information posted on this board about cleaning up an old machine. I do hope those tutorials are removed soon.
