Candace and Miriam, I love my new 2-tone 301! This is what I did last night at Strip Club with her! This is batiks, which are sometimes kinda stiff and harder to use, but the 301 just purred along! Of course this quilt top has lots more to do!

WOW. I love that quilt top. What is the pattern? It looks like one for the bucket list.

Charlee I also thought Davis made their own machines and as far as I know/knew they did not badge machines. I thought the Davis New Vertical Feed was manuafactured in Dayton? This machine kinda throws me as it says Bruce SMC! Maybe even back then they were out sourcing LOL! Anyway, JON where are you! Why does Trish's and my machine say "Bruce SMC" and what years are our machines?

Trish's machine 2751431
My machine 3727163

Sorry Joe, I thought you were the Davis guru!

Nancy
Trish's machine about 1915, Nancy's machine about 1918, both made in Dayton.

Thank you Charlee! That makes my two Davis Vertical feeds 20 years apart exactly as my older one, according to Jon, is 1899! Both made in Dayton. But, why does my machines actually have decaled on just like the rest of the decals Springfield, Illinois? I will post photos tonight - I hope! I am off to a marathon table runner class - 3 table runners in one day! Wheh! I am tired from the Strip Club class last night!

OH Jenn and Caroline, the quilt top is from Cozy Quilt Designs, but I can't tell you the pattern name as it is a Mystery Strip Quilt. I don't know the name of the pattern! I like it too, I have one more row to add and then the borders! We did not know what we were making until it came together. It takes a Bali pop - 40, 2.5" strips plus 5/8 yard of a fabric that pops - hence the canary yellow, plus back ground!

Nancy, That's a pretty quilt top. Looks like you have taken precut strips of a certain length and added a smaller piece to form that triangle at end. Then each strip is arranged into a pattern to form a block and then large blocks into rows. The yellow pinwheels are formed in the same manner. Looks like each large block does have a center square. Does it? That yellow pops and adds to the whimsical feel of this quilt top. This pattern is excellent for using up some of the larger scraps to form a scrappy quilt.

I'm looking forward to seeing your finished quilt when you get it done.

Nancy, yes my machine says the same as yours. Also does yours have a reverse button? I can sew in reverse when I push it.
