I have several machines that I would like to share. I have been collecting and restoring machines for about two years. This one is not an antique yet but it is certainly a vintage machine. It is a Nelco R-2000. It is a fantastic machine to sew on but it is very complicated as you can see. I had a Singer 401-A that couldn't compare to this machine. It is not finicky at all and will do just about anything you want and is very forgiving. I had never heard of it before I saw it at an Estate Sale. This one is a keeper. I just picked this Minnesota A in a case a few weeks ago. I wiped it down and the finish was just fantastic on this machine that definately is an antique. Much more simple than the Nelco I just posted. Fantastic machine that now sews like a new machine again. It vibrates like crazy if you go too fast, so I don't go too fast. Yipppeee! Ken, you solved the puzzle! So there is a 230 and a 230 Automatic! Wow, now that makes sense. Now, I want the plain 230 too! Thank you for your research!

This Anker RZ was a mess when I got it. Someone had tried to rewire the motor. Someone tried to work on the upper tension and lost parts. Someone left it in a flood in it's case. No rust on the machine but the case was a mess. I did replace the square footplate that was damaged by rust. All other chrome was in good condition. Someone rubbed off almost all of the decals on it too. Made in West Germany it was impossible to find parts. It sews great now and is simple to use. It can sew sooo slow if you want. Great machine solid, heavy and all metal worm gear drive. Sweet machine. I have someone picking this machine up tomorrow. I'm going to be sad to let it go. [ATTACH=CONFIG]373406[/ATTACH]

Grant, that Nelco looks complicated and interesting too! The angle of the photo almost makes it look like a 3/4 size machine? Is it a full size? Very clean looking and pretty! Thanks for sharing!

Now that is interesting - the bed decals are beautiful, but the rest of the decals including the name are gone? Maybe, the name was never on the machine to start with? It looks like it has zig zag and feed drop? Nice machine!

Grant - I believe the my New Home CZ is just a rebadged Anker RZ. Pity you didn't find parts as the bracket that attaches the bobbin winder to the machine was broken on mine in shipment It's nice to hear how well it sews, though!

I think that is correct Ken and Nancy, but there is no buttonhole knob/lever to the right on the black one. Both the automatic and non automatic have one of them but I believe Ken is correct on this as well. My 299 is an automatic and has all of them just like Nancy's 230.
