Dear Friends;
This is what happens when you have a 4 hour drive to a 6 hour meeting and then a 4 hour ride home. You listen to Christmas carols and think up new lines to old songs. I did this strictly for amusement - mine as the ride gets tiresome.

12 Days of Christmas ~ Quilter’s version

1st day of Christmas – a vintage sewing machine
2nd day of Christmas – 2 seam rippers
3rd day of Christmas – 3 new pairs of scissors
4th dya of Christmas – 4 packs of needles
5th day of Christmas – 5 rolls of batting
6th day of Christmas – 6 vintage presser feet
7th day of Christmas – 7 quarts of Tri-flow oil
8th day of Christmas – 8 vintage quilt tops
9th day of Christmas – 9 hours of uninterrupted quilting time
10th day of Christmas – 10 vintage bobbins
11th day of Christmas – 11 cones of thread
12th day of Christmas – 12 bolts of fabric

Estimate seems a bit low at $50-100.

Thanks. My daughters find it strange but I found it funny once I had all the categories filled.

Hi Everyone,

Not sure where on the board to post this, but I will start here, if anyone thinks I should move it over to another part, let me know. I just wanted to share what I found at Walmart that really works well to clean up the plated metal parts of your vintage machine. There was some discussion recently about doing this and I couldnt find what someone else recommended. I met a nice young man in Walmart today in the auto department. I explained to him what I was wanting to do. He informed me that he used to sell Kirby vacs and whenever he had to go out on a demo, he would shine up the metal parts with this: Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish. He said if I tried it and didnt like it, to bring it back.
That kind of customer service is a rare thing in Walmart, so I bought it. $4.97 for a small jar of it. It worked like a charm on my White FR machine that I am cleaning up to sell. So far I have cleaned the bobbin cover and it really shined up nicely. Will try to take some "before and afters" as I move along on the clean up detail.

Hope all of you have a wonderful Christmas!
Jody

Great place to post it Jody! Thanks! I've heard of "Mother's", but so far haven't tried it...good to have another opinion!
