Grant: yeah, me too. I just get through saying how I am shifting my collection to 19th century and this thing comes along http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/art/3565251549.html

It looks almost like a featherweight... but I agree the motor is what got me. That and with the head being so much "out of proportion" to the body, it looked like a child to me... $40 did not hurt...

I had to walk myself through NOT buying the Riccar.....

When Heather gets back I will ask her to take a series of shots, I will shrink them and post them. (Machine, case, and accessories)

So i took a chance and went ahead and bought the table ($15) without knowing for sure if my machine would fit and of course the hinges did not match up but with help from my husband we managed to make it work.

Here is our newest lady. A Davis she wouldn't treadle or let us turn her hand wheel. But DH got her going after a good oil bath and gentle talking to: I was able to sew with her and she has a great straight stitch. Serial # 602740 the number under the slide plate is 642. It has the wooden pitman arm. Also have a question about one of the attachments. There is a scalloped hemmer you use with the ruffler. On the scalloped attachment there is a piece missing. Was wondering if any one else has this. We could make a copy of the part needed so DH could make another. It looks like a small saw blade. If he had a copy or tracing with the sizes he could make another. Any idea how old she might be?

This is the hemmer that needs the part. The saw blade wheel would go on the end that is in the bottom right corner. Where the little hole is.
