You mean the 500, there isn't a 501. Here for a walking foot - http://shop.sew-classic.com/Singer-S...t-421333-S.htm
And here for a manual - http://www.singerco.com/support/inst...manuals/search

Sorry for all the questions. I am using my mothers machine and she doesn't have the manual. Can you tell me how often it needs lubricating and where. She just had it serviced but can't remember how often to oil it to keep it up.

aforistall, an excellent reference for Featherweight information is https://singer-featherweight.com/. There is an excellent tutorial on oiling and lubricating.
The Featherweight originally had a walking foot made for it - the Penguin. Do a search for it on the above website for "Penguin" to learn about it. It is highly collectable and expensive. That website sells an aftermarket walking foot made to fit the feed dogs of the Featherweight, and the price is reasonable. Just do a search on the website for "walking foot".
Some people have had good results with generic short shank walking feet, which are readily available. However, the generic walking feet are not exactly aligned to fit the unusual narrow design of the Featherweight's feed dogs.

Also, oil and lubricant are two different things. One doesn't want to put oil on gears or in the motor ports -- they require a special "lubricant". More frequently sewing machine oil is needed at several other points.

The featherweight takes a general low shank walking foot, some have used both new and old and it seems to work. The best might be to get a version made for the narrower feeddogs; they are sold on the web a few places like Sew Classic, and feed back on them is generally good. The Penguin is nearly impossible to find, but the Swiss Zigzagger turns up now and then, so keep an eye out; it works well as a walking foot in the straight stitch mode.
