I used my FW walking foot for the first time last week, as well. I think I got it from Sew Classic a month or so ago and I agree..... it sews so smoothly.... better than the expensive one on my expensive machine. So, quilting on the FW is very rewarding..... love it.

Default FW for quilting

Hi -- I just finished my first quilting class a couple weeks ago. We made a wall hanging and quilted it using long diagonal stitching from one corner to the other across the whole quilt. Not sure what that's called. Anyway, I used my walking foot and it helped a lot. Not sure that the FW is the best for quilting though because it could damage the motor with extended use. I also have a 301A with a darning/quilting foot and will be making another wall hanging/quilt and plan to use it to stipple the quilt. My gut tells me not too put to much on the FW but the 301A is built for it. I'm going to stick to my FW for piecing.
