Default Weir is Here!

No, that is not a question...

My James Weir New England Style machine has arrived safe and sound from Paris, France to California!

Now here starts the research part.

1. The "double curl" on the bottom indicates a James Weir Machine
2. The machine is Stamped on the Needleplate
U.S. PATD JULY 30, 1861
CHAS RAYMOND
So, it IS a Raymond machine, but made to sell in the UK through James Weir is the best guess currently.

This is my oldest confirmed date machine.

It seems small compared to that white mug in the first photo. How much does this treasure weigh?

What size is it, like 13" long or ? Made my heart skip when I first saw it. Great machine. Look at the presser foot, so neat. Does it sew yet?
