Question What kind is it?

We know how to look up the year from the model number but where do you go to learn about whether it's 99; or 66; or 128 etc? Besides asking you all.

when i looked up the seriel # on my machine the name of the machine (99-K) came up with it's 'birthdate & place of birth' the model # is what it is---99, 66, 128...the seriel # is what tells you when & where.

For Singer's, get the serial number off your machine and then go to ISMAC's site, here: http://www.ismacs.net/singer_sewing_...-database.html

On Singer machines there are two possible locations:

1. On a brass plate on the face of the machine
2. On the underside of the machine, stamped into the metal

You can join the Yahoo group "oldkenmoresewingmachines" they have a document in the files section called "sears SM timeline.pdf" that has some dates. Also other useful information and people who will answer questions.
