Wanabee Quiltin

DS was at a Goodwill Outlet and found this Singer attachment. I am thinking that because of its size and the fact that I have never ever seen one like this before, it must be something industrial. What do you all think it is?

The measurements are 2.5 x 6 inches long and it's a good solid piece of equipment.

lol, singer domestic buttonhole maker. this is the one that does not use cams. it is completely adjustable for length, width, and thread thickness

Your buttonholer looks like a low shank, would it fit any of your machines? Among them would be 66, 99, 201, 127, 128. It's a nice attatchment, the only I actually use regularly. It takes a bit of test sewing to get to know it, setting is a bit of a trial and error thing, but once set it does button hole after buttonhole with ease. Yours are in nice and clean condition too, it needs a bit of oil though.

+1 A little more preparation than the cam type, but it gives you great flexibility to get just the buttonhole you want.

I quite literally laughed out loud. I had a gut feeling just reading the opening as this thread started loading that it was indeed a buttonhole attachment. Of course, it might be because I had recently been involved with http://www.quiltingboard.com/vintage...r-t271952.html and ISMACS has the manual available if you don't have one.
