Would you buy a featherweight
without a case,
no attachments,
missing bobbin case
and a foot petal that looks like it needs wiring done? Don't know if it works...needle sticks when manually turn the wheel...???

And if so, how much would it be worth?

My concern would be the sticking--is it gummed up? is there a needle in it that is bent?

All the parts can be replaced if you only want a featherweight to use, if it is one for 'antique' then you need to wait for a complete machine.

Me, if I thought I'd be able to get it running I'd give $50.00 for this one. I gave $100.00 for mine without electric, case, and attachments. I already had the attachments....

It is going to cost you a few $ to put in back in shape and you may be able to buy a more complete one for less. New wiring and a foot peddle $25-$40, bobbin case $50-$80, machine case $30-$60, possible motor re-wire $30-$70, attachments anywhere from $5 and up depending on what you buy and from where. Tne second hand store in Guelph (near Lens Mills) often has attachments for machines resonably priced (buttonholer $3) but a Singer dealer if you can find one will want a lot more. I wouldn't want to spend much more than $50 on this machine as repairs may cost you in the $200 range and I sometimes see Featherweights on Kijiji that are complete for less than this. I see that the sites for parts that Coyote recommended are American and I haven't been able to locate parts that cheaply in Canada.

Would the seller let you take it to a repair shop an ask someone who works on machines. If it is a long-distance sale, maybe you could call a shop & ask?
