Yes Charlee, the WW will sew without the glass feet. I don't want to shatter the one and only that I have. The OSMG I purchased my WW8 from didn't even know they came with glass feet. The test swatches he did were all done without the glass feet and looked good to me. I am curious though, why glass inserts for the pressure foot? Any ideas?

wow someone gave that beautiful cabinet a good refinishing..I have a Wheeler/Wilson 9 too..machine is in great condition..cabinet is good too.

Just to follow up on my comments, I bartered my longarm services with a friend for that machine. I'm from Maine (lifer) so we all love to barter a deal. LOL

I didn't know you had W&W enthusiasts here! I don't remember the number of mine but it manufactured in 1871, and looks like a telegraph key. Interesting box lid too--was supposed to be able to hold a gas lamp to see better. It has the glass foot, but no belt.

There's two w9's here on c/l for sale now, one in eugene one in florence, both are 6 drawer... There $100 and $125..

I have seen photo's of what " they say" is a glass foot for a w 9, I don't have one, and no idea of it's year... in looking at the wooden goodie box, this one has to have more stuff in it ,than what came new or not every thing fit in that box.

It was made before me, so all I have to go by is the "They say's"
