These picuters show the inside of a cabinet an Embossed White Family Rotary came in - to show how the controller works with the knee bar

The controller is mounted to the bottom back side of the machine tray, so it folds down with the machine.



When you open the lid, the cable lifts the machine into place



The controller "catches" the knee bar and engages.





when fully open, the controller clips into the knee bar, and causes it to extend out from the side of the cabinet - and when you push the bar towards the cabinet, it powers the machine.

Interesting. Looks like you have some work ahead to get this one all cleaned up.

Thanks for the pics. Mine is definitely missing the knee bar as well as the door. What a pain. Well, now I need a door and a knee bar. Or ... maybe a whole cabinet.

I'm leaning towards the whole cabinet - but not sure how to get it to Indiana . . .

And if that does not work, I have an extra controller and knee bar that came with my Mom's old machine. they must have removed that from the cabinet when they put in the newer ZigZag machine, and stuffed the machine, drip pan, controler, knee lift and cords in the attic where it sat for 50 years.

I'm going to work on repairing the cabinet I have. I'm pretty sure all it will take is glue, time, glue, effort, glue, persistence, glue, and ambition. And maybe I can find a door somewhere ..... maybe.

So If your of a mind to part with all those extra goodies, I can put them to good use.

I might have a door slathered in icky green antique looking paint from the 1970s with a thin coat of whitish looking stuff over that.

Are you going to have enough glue?

Neat setup. I can see why other manufacturers just added a lever to a foot controller though.

I'll have to buy some more. I've been using the Elmer's Carpenter's Wood Glue Max. Once cured it's water proof and all but indestructible. I think it comes in a gallon jug too.

I saw one of these at the SA near me a few months back. They were asking $300.00. Cabinet had lot of wear and tear and looked like puppies got to chew on the legs. The mechanism worked good in raising the machine. It was a heavy one, also.
