Wooden sewing basket
I am not sure whether to call it a basket or a stool or a table? I found this on the weekend in a thrift. The inside tray is removable and it has a lot of storage space inside. It seems vintage but I'm not really sure how old it would be.

Would you say it's a stool then? I just figured it would work well next to a machine and I will probably have no trouble filling it will odd bits.

I'm not sure. Like you, I would just keep it near my machine filled with sewing notions I often use. I would use the top for temporary storage while I'm sewing such as a stack of fabric, patterns, etc. The angled legs aren't the best for supporting weight, imho.

My neighbor has one the only one who is allowed to sit on it is Mr. Felix. He's always begs to sit next to her on top of it. His legs were broken by some mean kids who were prosecuted. Mr. Felix is her cat and he's about 13 years old. The only man he will tolerate is my DH. If DH is working on my Jeep or his truck, Mr. Felix likes to watch from his window. She got the "bin" from her mother. Looks new though!

Without seeing it closed, it reminds me of a "dough box" table. One example would be the ones by Ethan Allen furniture. They were quite popular in the 1960's. I would love to have one next to my favorite chair to hold my current sewing projects. Congratulations! Looks like you have a very nice piece.
