yes it was a little lighter than a dark brown but not as light as beige.

I LOVE lizard skin machines.... I have a much abused turn of the century model 15 that I am thinking on doing in crinkle,

let us know if you pick it up and can get pictures I am sure it will be interesting to find out what it is!
