Default yellow cord

Just wondering if this is probably a newer cord or is it the original? This is Dorothy 1935 - 1936 and
is in fairly good condition. I would love to have her repainted, but not right now.

I would say that there is very little chance that it was the original cord

I've never seen a black Featherweight without a black cord. Many machines as old as yours have had their cord casings either get brittle and crack or get very limp and rubbery. Worn out cords on vintage machines can give you a very nasty shock and should always be replaced for your safety in my opinion.

That is a replacement cord. Probably an extension cord bought from a hardware store. I've seen many machines rewired with colored extension cords rather than black cord that would look far better.

somebody replace the original cord and probably the wiring into the machine also. It should have a plug on the end to plug into the machine with 3 prongs.
