Default my first cutwork attempt, thanks to grammatjr for helping!

I have been afraid to try this, but finally got the nerve. I'm happy with how it came out. This will be part of a comfort quilt for a 13 yr old boy who lost his dad. I showed the quilt I made his sister recently.

That is terrific! I know lots of snow boarders who would love it.

Jeanne, visit grammatjr here on the board, she has written a book about this process, and has a lot of info on her blog. I think she had a tutorial at one time, but not sure if it's still there. The book is on CD only but I found it very helpful and easy to follow. It has lots of patterns plus directions for using your own patterns like I did here.

You can use photographs, but I used a coloring book drawing for this particular image.

This is stunning! Have only seen cut work in doilies, table cloths and napkins.
