Sorry if this sounds stupid. I dont know and maybe my neighbor does know more but we only had a few mins over the fence.

I use tear away stabilizer on the back, and a fabric that coordinates or matches the quilt. I put who it is to if this is a gift, the date it is made or the date of the occasion. My name. You could even put the name of the quilt or the block name. I usually sew the block on the lower right corner of the back.
