Robyn Carr popped into my mind. Some romance, some mystery. A couple different series. I recommend you read them in order. (That is what I like to do). I’ll try to think of someone else I like that is not “gory”.
I love, love, love Linda Castillo’s series of Kate Burkholder. She is an Amish Chief of Police. ***Warning**** a bit gory at times. Still love the series.
