It is supposed to go under your sewing machine so pocket portion hangs over the edge of table. that way all your sewing needs are right at hand and the material your machine sit on absorbs the noise of your machine
it’s a sewing machine pad, thank you. I placed it under my machine and realized it also keeps my machine from sliding when in use.
