I am just playing with the software right now, it is pretty easy, I have figured out a lot by just clicking on things, I have finished the first lesson.

I have a hard time just doing one of anything, that is why I figure that if I make it all the way through I will have more than one Jane to show for it, and I get very impatient at times and have extra time usually (no that there isn't housework etc but I can block that voice out usually) being a stay at home mom with teen kids gives me a little extra time to do things like this, I will just be using what I have on hand, so who knows what it will look like, I will try and keep to the value of what is used but no garentees on that either, I have issues following what others do.

For awhile there it seemed muslin was getting a bad rap. It used to be popular to use as a background fabric but with all the various fabrics having come out since the 80's & 90's, muslin has sort of fallen by the wayside. I love the stuff and am glad to see there are still people out there who enjoy working with it.

I would recommend pre-shrinking it before using it - even if the bolt end says "pre-shrunk"

I wash ALL my fabric before I use it, even the muslin. I do this not only to deal with any shrinkage and/or excess dye problems (which isn't a problem with muslin) but because there are so many chemicals in fabric today and I'm highly allergic to a lot of them. So I wash & then I play.

Was it all in my imagination or did someone say they were redoing all the blocks so that they can be done by paper piecing them?

i'll be redrafting as many as i can to paper piecing but some of them just won't translate.

it will be interesting at the end to figure out how many blocks i was able to alter into paper piecing.

Slap me with a wet noodle and call me stupid.....

I'm considering doing two. Or changing my original plan.

I love the Dear Jane at Sea picture posted a while ago, I can see that with the blocks done in black and white, and the sashing done in black and white and either electric blue or lime green.

Decisions decisions!

I mentioned awhile back that I had finished A-1 and A-2. In the first picture, If this goes through, is A-1 in green batik, the second one is A-1 in civil war and the third is A-2 in cival war.
What do you think? This is my first time trying to post a picture
