Default 2015 - August Block of the Month - Photos

Here, at long last, are my own renditions of the block Flying in Circles.
I'm looking forward to seeing everybody else's.

The instructions offered two options for doing the centers of the outer "borders."
In this version I used the hourglass patch.

In this one, I used Flying Geese all the way around.

This is great! I've been trying to decide on a quilt pattern to do for my great-nephew. I bought several fabrics that need to be showcased--cars, motorcycles, tractors--and this block has a nice square in the middle that I would use, plus the flying geese remind me of racing flags.

Kathryn, I like the colors in your block. I haven't been doing these blocks, but I really like this pattern. Maybe I'll go back and see what the others look like. Thanks, PatriceJ.
