Here is block 2. I wanted to try to make the whole block form one piece of fabric that has different shades in it, I think it turned out ok.

Why, I would have to agree with you Elle! Now, are those purple centers from that same piece? You did a fabulous job on this one technique wise too...:D:

No Patti, its not the same fabric, it just needed a bit of zing and the purple did it. Thanks, I THINK I am getting a little better on those points.

I think your points look great Elle....I've found that I am better or worse depending on the type of fabric I'm using. I'm getting pretty darn good, if I'm using batiks! Regular slightly bulky cottons on the 7" blocks...not so much! But I have been doing this new "sweeping" under of the tip prior to trying to get the point done and that is seeming to help.

I figured the purple wasn't on the same piece...just HAD to mess with ya', you know!!

Yep and you always catch me out. LOL

I find regular cotton so different to the batik material, I think its harder to work with personally.

It is to me when doing applique...but sometimes, its the best way to go! I'm learning to be slightly careful about what pieces I'm using it for on the blocks though.
