Sorry everyone, I posted pics of my finished block, and forgot to come back and answer questions.

I am photocopying my block, enlarging it to 142% so that it will look right on a 10in finished block (I am cutting my fabric out at 11in, because that fits nicely across the width of Kona cotton.

I then put the copy on a light box (Patti posted some suggestions for these on the main thread) and cover with the black, then trace the design with a Sewline Pencil (yellow lead).

I appliqued the blue onto the yellow, then cut away some of the yellow behind the blue (to cut down on bulk)

Back, once the yellow is appliqued to the black, and again cut away

This is the back of my final block, with hearts cut away

~The front again, to save you going back to look for it

Once we get some more pics on these threads, I am willing to bet that everyone's choices will look equally good.

I find that to be hard for me to. I had several colors going and finally had to make a choice or I would be here till next June trying to pick colors for 1 block Thanks for sharing

I like your second block the best too...it does seem to pop more, although I like the 1st one too. I don't think you could go wrong either way.

As for the technique, you'll just have to make a personal decision- machine vs. by hand. I am doing needle turn by hand as its a technique that I really want to learn and get better at doing. I also need a hand work project for tv time at night with DH. There are lots doing machine though.

Posting my Block 9 to the group. This is the one that I needed to re-do. The Razzle Dazzle didn't line up anywhere close to where I thought it should be. I am applying it by doing bobbin work. The Razzle Dazzle is in the bobbin & I'm working from the back.

Beautiful job, Kathy. I can't imagine trying to do that from the back, but you've figured it out obviously.

Actually, you quilt it from the front first, using invisible thread. Then turn it over and put the Razzle Dazzle bobbin in the machine. You now go over the places you have already quilted, so you have guidelines. It's just that my free motion is really free - all over the place!
