Here is my December Block finished. I still have four more of the blocks to redo in the red, white and blue before I can put on borders. I have to say I completely enjoyed this years BOM and look forward to finding what next years theme is. Will continue to check back in to see everyone's progress

I really enjoyed making this block. It might be one of my favorites. In fact, I have really enjoyed this entire project. Like many others, I'm not sure what I want to do at this point. I'm leaning toward a quilt as you go with free motion quilting. I made last year's Quilty BOM project and used Leah Day's class for the quilting. I love how that project turned out. I'm just not sure I can pull this off without instruction. Then again, if I don't try, I'll never know. ;-) Thanks to all who picked these great blocks and everybody who provided inspiration by sharing pictures. I love how they all turned out. So, Happy Holidays and on to 2014!!!

Thank you Sulabug!! I'm a fairly new quilter so I'm full of self-doubt. I plan to make it for us, and put it in the living room if I can get it together in a pleasing way. If not so pleasing I'll put it in the dark hallway, lol! I'm open for suggestions. I'm thinking about putting the same black pebbles fabric around each block as a type of frame so I can cut them all the same size, then adding some colorful sashing and borders. What do you think of that idea? I would like to do some type of QAYG so I can do the quilting myself, but I'm not sure how.

I think your Granddaughter is SO lucky to get that beautiful quilt!

Do you have someone designated to make your quilt for? These BOM projects are always so fun to do. Thank you for sharing your work with all of us here on the Quiting Board.

Thanks Jenniky! That's what I'm thinking too, and then just embroider the same design all over in a multi-color thread? I am thinking of using the leftover matching fabrics for a multicolored border too, what do you think?

Thimblebug I love the crispy modern look of your quilt!

This is going to be so fun to see everyone's finished quilts.

I'm excited about next year too. Maybe I'll just keep using the same fabric and keep making blocks, then I won't have to figure out how to put it together, LOL!!!

I'm thinking about being real different and doing a 2x6 block configuration because I have a long blank wall and it would sit above the recliners there. It might be easier to quilt that way too.
