Very pretty quilt top, Jaba. Have the pattern, but have never done it. When they are that big, don't you just feel like you have wrestled an elephant? My first quilt was 108 x 116. What was I thinking? I have never again made one that long. Beautiful colors.

Help! I am so clueless when it comes to color value...,here are 3 options....most not stitched...i don't care for any of them. I want to introduce some lilac eventually...i wish i had used a white background on the center block....may have to restart this quilt!

I like the one with the pinks best. The blue one doesn't have enough contrast and the purple/green has too much IMHO.

I agree, it wears you out just sewing it. Now I have to add borders on the 108" backing too, need to have that extra width to put it on the table for quilting. I am really happy with the way it turned out. I've got the mats all done for the dressers and night stands, just have the pillow shams to go.
Everyone is doing an amazing job on their quilts, they all look so nice.

Jaba, that is so beautiful. Of course, I do love purple.

Jill, I think I like the purple/green best, pink next, blue last. Guess I like that strong contrast. Say, you didn't try green/light blue.

Jill, I am wondering about a white that tends to pink or lilac or the lightest color you have in the middle to frame that beautiful center. Maybe totally off. Of the ones you have I like the pink the best. Seems "to go" with what you have. I totally agree about color angst. I just ponder and ponder and wear myself clear out. Finally, get frustrated and go with something.

I'd try a light pink & bring that tourquoise into the block That's what's so fun... we are all so different in our choices!

Jill,

What if you made the first border powder blue and pink to pull out that beautiful blue wreath? The pink with help it blend nicely with the rest of the quilt while the blue will make the border stand out just enough.

Thank you all for the input! I don't have a lot of the darker pink fabric left, so I am hesitant to play with it! I am going to try to create the diamond block on EQ-I have the eq5, so there are not as many premodern blocks....and I haven't played with it much, which was one of my goals with this project anyways.
I am wondering if the strong geometric design of the block is fighting with the delicate swirls of the center???
