I have not said so until now, I think, but I sure do enjoy looking at the photos and fabric/color choices; I'm still amazed how the colors & color value can so dramatically change the look of a block. Even when I'm choosing fabrics for my own blocks, I get such a kick out of the different looks I can get just by changing fabric(s).

Oh dear, if you girls had problems with #18 I may as well not even start it. It is a very pretty block and the ones on this thread are beautiful.

Hi Nanjun, I thought the way EQ7 diagramed it would be easy--but it wasn't--I can't even make a potholder out of it. I used the templates on freezer paper and sewed right thru the paper but I didn't sew to the edge. I left the 1/4 " seam allowance open. Now I just have to sew the sections together the way it's pictured in the book--so far ao good.

Nonnie, I am with you in the Super Slacker club. Oh well.

Ummm, I don't mean to be rude, but #18 does not look right on these. Is it just me or is it that way for an over-all design using the same block? I think I will have to play with this one until I really like the final outcome. Sorry, don't mean to upset anyone.
Irregardless, all the blocks are so neat. I love all the variations.

It is odd-looking. I suspect it was, as you say, originally designed to be matched up to other Century of Progress blocks of the same fabrics, which would entirely change the look of it.

I really like your fabric choices (including the blue).

As I was picking out my fabrics for #18, I couldn't help but notice what a nice skull or Cylon that block could make. It is a weird one.
