Nope still no notifications. Will have to make sure I don't miss anything. For the first block (remember it is a test block I haven't really started) I ironed freezer paper to my fabric then cut my pieces very very carefully, I then drew on my 1/4 inch seam line on every piece, this will give you the exact spot to stop at in order to do your Y seams. Don't sew all the way to the edge of the fabric. Hope this helps

Yes Jeanie, There are several blocks that cannot be pp"d the normal way. Each block has a sheet with the templates. I looked at the rotary cutting....I like my phrasing better! The more I look at the first one I know I'll be english piecing. When I was recovering from knee replacement I did 500 hexagons. They are still in the plastic bag I brought home from the hospital...I find it relaxing every once in awhile to do some..
Now just to figure out the fabric for itfor the first block...My blocks are going to be fun and scrappy.

I like the idea of doing English PP for A Beauty. I have never tried it, but I have watched tutorials/videos and it seems doable. Do you plan on posting a tutorial that is specific to "A Beauty"?

You can use the English PPing for any block... Print out the line diagram and color it with crayons to make sure you're sewing the pieces correctly...I'm going to use EPP for several of the blocks that have alot of the inset/y seams. It will take more time to do because of cutting out the many template pieces. You cannot use the line diagram. it prints out close to 1/8 of an inch too small and every time I adjust my printer to a bigger size it defaults to 100 % and even if it came out correct ...cutting out the pieces...some will be bigger and some will be smaller....I'm fussy when it comes to correct sizes. I'm going to start making some templates for the blocks that don't have the foundation papers. I save the cards from magazines that are attached inside and some that actually fall out... measure the templates after printing them out to the chart given for rotary cutting to see if they are the correct size...This first block is going to be fun!!!

I think I agree with you. There were lots of "bugs" in the first farmer's wife.

The book has been out several months now and I haven't heard of any problems...I do frequent the other site where the author herself is heading the group there. The first FWS book did have some problems but nothing that would keep a person from doing the quilt. The FWS Pony Club book has everything included...no extras to buy like the first one. That was the hitch that kept alot from doing it...not just the few typos.
