9 inch makes so much more sense to me too. Many of the blocks could be rotary cut if the measurement was 9 rather than 8. You could use Quilt Assistant to draw the blocks and print from that program instead. Unfortunately it doesn't give dimensions. I decided to stay with 8 inch. I figured that since I paid for the disk I should use it!

They are pretty when done but getting them to all go the right way and stay the correct size challenges me. I hope there aren't too many more of those!
Thanks GGal!! ... all went yesterday, with the report being received well, the recommended changes sliding thru without hardly a bat of the eye! That sure made me feel good, as I havne't worked directly on a project with this person before, and wasn't quite sure how they would accept recommendations on work they'd done. And oh, I even found out later, that they recognized that I did more work than they'd anticipated (aka got more than their money's worth on that contract!!) ...... that they upped the payment that'll be coming! Yahoooooooooooooooo!

I'd heard about the MMichel templates as one of the LQS' not far from here are doing it as a monthly GTG. EVERYTHING in that store is all about Marti!! I stuck with plain old rotary cutting for the first while and n ow it's pretty much all PPing as it solves the problem with all those tiny little triangles ... facing the right way, colours where I want them, and man-o-man talk about square squares and pointy points!!! Can't beat PPing for all of those things. I almost feel like I'm cheating when I PP and think of it as dot-to-dot meets paint-by-numbers ... almost goof proof. OK I'll confess, I have put on the wrong colour in the wrong spot, and yes, I have chopped off the wrong piece when trimming. All Operator Errors!!

Yes, I'm trottling right along today with FWS blocks. There'll be some show and tell threads tonight or tmro morning with those. Then tomorrow will be all about PC with pics to follow too. So keep your eyes open!!!

Hi Y'all, I'm off to Calabash, NC tomorrow for 2 maybe 3 weeks....I have been busy packing trying to figure out what to take with me to sew on besides my projects...There must be something wrong with me...why do I have to cart so much stuff back and forth?? I kinda feel I need to keep alot around and I never get to it???
Both my DH and I have been battling with sore throats, coughing and runny noses for awhile now and some warmer weather without the rugrats seems in order... I hope not to have a problem with the internet...I will be using my neighbors hookup on Tuesday evenings..oops, I forgot...Bingo is on Tuesday eves. So the posting will be either before 6 p.m. or after 10:30 p.m. I seriously hope to get some blocks done next week so I don't fall behind.
I saw the railroad fabric that Laurie used in the Depot block on Ebay..It's by VIP. I may pass on that block until I get that fabric. Oh well, back to packing the car..but first reasd the Sunday paper! Later, Anne/Honchey

Enjoy your time away Honchey! ... R+R sans R's sounds perfectly wonderful!
Nothing like warmer weather and sunshine to knock flat those colds that are brewing.
Add some quality time with your sewing machine and it'll be bliss!

I'll be crossing the 100 line for the FWS today ... then will shift gears to the PC first 4!

Travel safely, Dear Friend ... and I'll look forward to hearing from you on Tuesday night.

I'm so glad knowing you received it as I couldn't replace the same fabric. I did get mine too, I thought I sent you a PM about it. Thanks so much, it's lovely. I will use it in one of the next Pony blocks

Glad Im not the only one

I go for the mathematically designed quilts, they are more visually appealing to me. AND I usually draft my own patterns, so 8" is NOT a size I have ever done before. BUT I think I will have to give it a try

Default TFWPC QUILT/ BLOCK 1, A beauty/HELP!

Hello! OK, I started constructing the block and it fought me all the way. I've made 3 of them and am not happy with the results. Can this block be paper pieced? If so, does anyone know how I go about figuring out which piece goes in first and second, etc. Should it be separated into sections? I know how to paper piece and am pretty good at it which is a complete surprise to me. thanks for any help!

A Beauty can't be paperpieced unless you applique part of the seams. Do you have problems with the Y seams? Did you mark the 1/4" seam on all sides of all pieces? If you did that it should not be that hard if you're not sewing into the seam!
